Al, I don't find anything redeeming about a president who was elected through the process that was used -- it borders, imo, on a move toward fascism. We have a news media who was (and is) willing to distort the truth time and again to get its chosen candidate reelected. We had a president and a campaign organization that constantly lied and misled gullible voters -- which includes a "get out the vote" effort that specifically targeted the most ignorant among us. The fact that Obama won is really a credit to his ability to read a speech; it is not a reflection of any ability he has to govern -- and that is clearly visible if one cares to look at the string of abject failures we've experienced under his "leadership". The president is not a leader; he is a puppet who has been led around by the nose for four years and apparently will continue to do so for the next four. >> What did you see during the mccain campaign (or after for that matter) that would lead you to that conclusion? I think Palin lacks the hubris and arrogance that Obama routinely displays, and that is a critical factor. While Obama is clearly incompetent, he acts as though he isn't. So, while he shows no signs of real leadership, when he gets an "idea" from his puppeteers, he becomes very committed to the idea regardless of how stupid it is. But I also believe Palin, if nothing else, has integrity. Is she a scholar? No. But she has more integrity in her little finger than Obama ever dreamed of scrounging up. And I think the reelection campaign reflected it. Obama is clearly incompetent to hold the office. But worse, he has no scruples. I don't believe anyone can genuinely say that Palin has no scruples.
