Example:

On April 1st of this year, someone started a thread that was about a company that was touted to be the "next intel." He started the thread with a very believable post about the use of biotechnology as the replacement for silicon for memory and microprocessor chips.

The post turned out to be, as you might expect, an april fools joke. The lessons learned from this exercise, however, are well worth noting in this thread and many others. If you are interested in following the evolution of this april fools thread you can start with the original post at:

Notice how some quickly caught on to the fact that it was an april fools joke while others were caught up in the hype and were going crazy trying to figure out how to buy in.
