This is a very sad day. Allen was an amazing moderator on this thread. Allen was an amazing guy and I will miss him very, very much as a friend. RIP, Allen.

Henry, Thanks for finding and posting the news here. Not having seen Allen post anywhere on SI for over a week made me think that something bad was happening. I never met Allen in person. I only knew him through his postings on the boards here. He appeared to be a genuine type of guy. Smart and witty, even with all the stuff and bad news that was coming his way. He will be missed. My condolences to his family and friends. Neal

Thanks for posting this Henry. I was waiting to tell everybody today after I heard. Allen was the best and he will be missed. Another bright shining star has left the building. Glad to see that even SI is acknowledging his passing and am grateful for SI as I would never had found this great friend of mine if we weren't members of this wonderful site.
