And here's one right back at ya.

Intuit Quicken 98 / Checkfree and some un-named billers have been betaing bill pay for quite sometime....I just wonder when they are going to finish it....directly from my Quicken 98 Deluxe Software.

classic.quicken.com

Now that explains to me why Quickbooks is delayed...Might as well have a E-Bill generator right inside that piece of Business Software. Business using it could probably pay for the cost of the software by E-Billing their clients and saving the postage.....Just my guess....but makes sence for Intuit to go for both E-Bill delivery thru Quickbooks...and receipt thru Quicken. Sometimes having an 80% market share has it's advantages? And that'd be and end-to-end-to-end for Checkfree.....just thinking out loud.

And as long as I'm thinking out loud........I'll take it a few steps further...

Since sign up is internet based you won't need to have Quicken or Microsoft Money to use the service....the only thing you will need is;

1) An internet connection
2) A checking / 'BANK' account

Now here you go....you----------

1) log into an online payment center
2) you establish an account for yourself
3) you establish digital links for the type of transactional accounts you want to link up to the 'BANK' you happen to be using for....checking, savings, brokerage....ect...ect.
4) you establish digital links to your billers.
5) you establish digital links to your income sources...Social Security if you're an ole fart.

You can now access any of your accounts directly from the internet...anywhere...anytime.

Now there should be an option to have your 'BANK' send you a digial checkbook card to use in place of your old paper checkbook. Kinda like current day credit cards.

You can use your digital checkbook at any store that currently has one of those nifty credit card readers. You just sign like you do a check...or credit card.

You come home log into the payment center. Pay the electric, phone and gas....access all your spending activity from your 'BANK'......and if you happen to have Quicken or MicroSoft Money download the transactions into your computer for transactional tracking..record keeping.

And you may say; 'But the Banks want to control access....ie customers go to their site/web-center.' Sorry IMHO I'm not going to 5 different web sites to get my banking done? Just like I don't have 5 e-mail addresses to get my mail?

Somebodies gonna 'hub it'....gotta happen.

Then from the 'Hub' I can go to any particular 'BANK' site I want.

And It's my guess it'll be MicroSoft powered by MSFDC...and Intuit powered by Checkfree.....In fact they are doing it now.
