Thank God for the Anti-Federalists that demanded a Bill of Rights be amended to the Constitution, led by Thomas Jefferson. "A bill of rights is what the people are entitled to against every government on earth, general or particular, and what no just government should refuse, or rest on inference." If it were not for the likes of Thomas Jefferson and James Madison, and other Anti-Federalists among the Framers, we would have long ago descended back into a European tyranny. It's taken 200+ years of steady erosion, but those men were prescient in their warnings about federal power.
