As you point out, being at home gives one a certain amount of independence, even near death. I know of people who have done this. Some with their docs looking the other way. (nudge, nudge, wink, wink) But remember it is best to understand what lethal means and the dosages involved. I also know of a few people who took that route and didn't quite get through the door. They were pulled back by the system and forced to suffer on for some terrible months in states of suffering far worse than the ones they fled. So the rule is be careful of what one wishes for, and if one makes a move, be sure its an effective one.
