yup. agree 100%. Also he had all those CEOs last year come to Washington and they told him the same thing...

FWIW, I figured out why Apple and so many companies keep cash offshore... when they find what they want to sell in the US, they use the cash to go out and buy capital equipment for FoxCom and TSMC and Samsung to build the chips and assemble the gadgets for them to get a low transfer cost to the US... so it shows up as huge profits in the US. Trouble is they still sell too much overseas so they generate more cash outside the US than they can use...

20 years ago I used to argue with upper managers at HP trying to make the case to not move jobs to Singapore and perhaps at least put some of the jobs in Baja Mexico where we'd be in the same time zone... trouble is the tax savings just about overwhelms any other business considerations... especially if the countries getting the jobs give you a tax holiday. I designed a chip on an old process that kept a chip factory going in San Jose for an extra two years... they treated me like a king when I was working on the next chip with the hope of keeping their jobs ... but we eventually went overseas to build the next generation of chips. It just floors me we don't have anyone getting this basic info to the president or anyone in Taxifornia... maybe the morons believe in Santa Clause is all I can guess...
