I see Zen as the direct observation, and recognition, of an amorphous abstract reality that is real and very profound, but cannot be explained ,as it is simply too complicated. All you can really do is appreciate it for no other reason than to know it?

But the mind that can do that is really what is important about zen. Not the exercise, but the exerciser is the point.

The east understands that concept, but not the west. I think that is their cultural advantage over us in the brains department.

The east underdtands there is something to understand and search for that they don't know.

The west is based on the bible and it says it is all right there. No need to look elsewhere.
