There is no confusion. Hagel is done. Stick a fork in it. In a few years, he'll be a Fox contributor.

Disagree. If he decides to stay in the Senate, he won't lose unless the Dems have someone really good (rare in KY).

>> R. Paul is done.

He looks to be in a fairly strong position, particularly with respct to fiscal issues, which are likely to become very important over the coming few years.

I don't think he's going anywhere.

CNN: Rubio 'career-ender' chyron a joke

CNN ran a chyron on Wednesday afternoon questioning whether Sen. Marco Rubio's waterbottle flap (flap?)during last night's State of the Union response could be a "career ender." The chyron drew criticism from right-wing media watchdogs like Newsbusters and from journalists on Twitter.

But CNN now says it was only joking.

"We are joking, it was a tease," CNN Public Relations wrote to POLITICO, via Twitter.

"It was simply a tease (posing a question) leading up to a segment with our political contributors—when Wolf [Blitzer] specifically said no one thinks this will be a career ender," CNN spokesperson Edie Emery later told POLITICO via email.

"Either this is photoshopped or @CNN has completely lost it"

The quote is from Ben Howe, via Kat McKinley:

Ethan Klapper asks, " Are you serious?"

CNN: Beclownment complete.
