Yes, the public does support universal healthcare, but does not want to pay too much for it. It sounds a little bit like we should not ban cigarettes because a lot of people will lose their jobs. Imagine all the jobs lost if the US ever gets its act together and enacts universal healthcare at a reasonable price. The Right Wing wants more prisons, but does not want to pay for it. So, do they really want more prisons? I want to point out that recently I discovered Request A Test:requestatest.com Request a Test operates in most States (45 I believe). They provide extremely discounted Lab/Drug Testing. They do not operate in NY or NJ so I went to Stamford, CT a few weeks ago to have one of their discounted Thyroid Testing Packages:requestatest.com I chose the one for $119, with TSH, free T4 and free T3. I've already gotten the result back (within 24 hours) and I'm considered normal (with no deficiences). Request a Test provides reference values on the report to let you know how the Test Results turned out. What you do with these results is up to you. Request a Test has their lab work done by Qwest and Lab Corp and they provide this service for those who don't have insurance or whose insurance company will not fund the cost of the test. I did this all by credit card online and was very satisfied. What I found most interesting is Request a Test (provides absolute confidentiality) charges $69 for a PSA Test with Free PSA readings. I remember going to my Urologist , having him charge me close to $100 to have him stick his finger up my ass and take blood. Then the Lab would charge anywhere from $100 to $200 for PSA Test. That makes me wonder whether the Urologist was getting a kickback from the Lab company. Anyway, I am very satisfied with the service I received. There are no appointments, you just walk in with confirmation number once you have paid online. I like Request a Test because I can order any Test for myself without going to a doctor first or with him authorizing The Test. Power to the consumer and individual concerned for his health. PS I was in and out in a few minutes with no wait time.
