Cyber, I am the big bull on this one. the key is whether they can get the MegaBace to market in the first q and whether it lives up to its billing. The sequencer market is about $300m and growing. PE through Applied Biosystems (ABI) dominates the market. The MegaBace system which purports to be faster thant he ABI 370 sells for about 185,000 each. All of the Genome centers have at least one on order (probably two) and if they deliver each one will probably purchace 3 or 4. Word of mouth spreads quickly in the academic portion of the scientific community and if MegaBace lives up to its billing they will not be able to manufacter enough of them. On the other hand if it doesn't meet expectations or delivery is delayed in time for PE/ABI to come out with thier own version of a capillary system then its a single digit stock. INCY came out with an impressive review of MegaBace at the Sea Island genomics conference and I am betting it will be a winner and garner a significant market share. There are a number of scientists I know who are not happy with the virtual monopoly PE has had in this area until now.

FWIW - Individual Investor Magazine included MDYN in its "Magic 25" for the coming year. Also included are Sepracor and Biotechnology General. Go to their web site iionline.com for an analysis of all three companies. It requires registration, which is free. Good luck getting through. They just posted their "Magic 25" picks for 1998 yesterday at 1600, and its been a bear to get through. If past activity is any indication, I expect all three stocks will get a pop on monday based on their inclusion in the "Magic 25". BTGC was on last year's, so I expect MDYN will get the biggest pop since its the least expensive of the remaining two which are completely new to the list. Have a good one. Bo
