Google (NASDAQ: GOOG) Chairman Eric Schmidt believes that Android's war with Apple’s (NASDAQ: AAPL) iOS is just about over -- and that his team won. Speaking to Bloomberg in an interview, Schmidt said that Android's ongoing market-share battle with Apple's iOS is of the scale of 20 years ago --Microsoft(NASDAQ: MSFT) versus Apple. He went on to say that in his opinion, "We're winning that war pretty clearly now."
"War" sounds dramatic, but really, ... isn't it more of a race than a war?

The numbers would look impressive if there were some correlation between the business models as it relates to the two mobile OSs. Apple sells phones and tablets and iPods that use iOS. Google's interest in the smartphone industry is much different. Of all the counted Androids that make up the "war" only some come from Google and many are losers in terms of profits.

Now honestly, when corporations go to war, isn't the winner determined by who takes home the most m-o-n-e-y?
