How about the full quote?

"This is something I’ve struggled with throughout my presidency," said Obama. "The problem is that I’m the president of the United States, I’m not the emperor of the United States. My job is to execute laws that are passed."

His point was that he has to enforce the Constitution and the country's laws, whether he agrees with them or not.

You assholes always bash him for ignoring the Constitution -- now he's explaining that he's not and you bash him for that?

The last President from your party said the same thing three times (at least -- this is as of 2002), and much more cavalierly:

And before you scream that liberals bashed him for that, Obama never gave the sense that he'd rather be a dictator. Your guy seemed to be wistfully regretting that he wasn't one. "If this were a dictatorship, it would be a heck of a lot easier, just so long as I'm the dictator," Bush joked."

And apparently it's something he contemplated quite often.
