>> I hope it passes...we've gone too far already with this violent bs you guys subscribe to.

Do you HONESTLY think I WANT MORE VIOLENCE? Do you really believe that?

This is the problem with leftwingers today. If someone sees things differently from you, you attribute it to outrageous motivation rather than the possibility we just understand things better than you do. As a result, the left has become intransigent on issues that ought to be solvable.

You blame others for creating "gridlock" in DC, but the reality is it is your own unwillingness to consider the fact that other people may have a little more understanding of some issues than you do.

Importantly, WRT this particular issue, the Left's solution will actually exacerbate the problem, and some of us can see that.

This can't be said enough. They are America's greatest enemies.

I think a lot of people feel the same about liberals, and it is clear that liberalism is economically decimating our country.

Still, it would be dumb to turn it over to one-party rule, regardless of which party. There have been times when conservative leadership dealt with major problems that Dems failed to deal with (the Cold War, 9/11 which resulted from Clinton's failure to act), and there have been times when Dem presidents did some things right (FDR was a great wartime president, although his domestic policy is a disaster even today). Overall, Republicans have been far more effective leaders during my lifetime, but that's a relatively short period of time.

It ought to be of great concern to people in the US that neither party today is adhering to reasonable principles of fiscal management, but the Dems are obviously the driving force. At the same time, the Rs have some unreasonably invasive social policy that needs to go.

I would not wish for single party rule, or even a single party for an extended period of time.
