Gerald,

This DNA buzzware that Microsoft is touting seems to offer a "cross-platform" solution by nature. It is interesting that cross-platform functionality is an impossibility for all but the elite programmers on the Redmond Campus. Apparently the "promise" of "Deposit once, withdrawal anywhere" is different when it is presented at the Windows Development Conference than at a Java Conference.

Also what is all the concern about the late delivery of NT5.0? Do people think it is easy compressing 20 years of UNIX features into an OS while trying to make them look original and innovative? Cut them some slack -- they really just want to release products that have a low Total Cost of Ownership and have planned support for the future -- like Visual J++...

Cheers,

Norm
