"A lot of nothingness is coming our way..."

Such a well-read man and so honest and brilliant. Such a contrast to Demski, Craig, et al. Such a contrast. Such a loss...

I think the greatest thing abou Hitch was his unrepentant HONESTY. This is a GREAT talk--short but powerful as he answers a ridiculous Christian question. From 4 minutes to the end is so so powerful.

"We must be afraid...and we must be forced to 'love' someone whom we fear--the essence of sado-masochism."

“There seem to be only two kinds of people: Those who think that metaphors are facts, and those who know that they are not facts. Those who know they are not facts are what we call "atheists," and those who think they are facts are "religious." Which group really gets the message?”

Joseph Campbell, Thou Art That: Transforming Religious Metaphor

"With the moon walk, the religious myth that sustained these notions could no longer be held. With our view of earthrise, we could see that the earth and the heavens were no longer divided but that the earth is in the heavens. (105)”
