Your statement does not make any sense at all. No short seller can
have a 100% gain unless the stock goes to zero.

Re: "...hold and have patience.:-)" I'm doing that. As Clint Eastwood said "The only way they'll get my Cymer shares is to pry them out of my cold, dead fingers." (I think that was in Treasure of the Sierra Madre, yes?) I'm considering increasing my position in Cymi. I can see that this large Short Interest could provide additional impetus to the long-awaited move up, and I like that. But why does cymi have so large a Short Interest relative to other companys which seem to be in similar situations? If one is playing chess with an opponent known to be competent, and he makes a move which doesn't seem to make sense, it is not wise to assume it is a foolish or mistaken move. Likewise, I don't think it wise to assume the 4.47M Short Interest is held by people who are unaware of Cymi's upside potential. I think there is a REASON for the large Short Interest position (relative to other, similar, beaten down stocks.) I don't know what that reason is. I wish someone could give a plausible explaination so I can buy more Cymi without feeling like there's something going on here I don't understand. In the meantime, I'm holding onto my current Cymi position like Grim Death, in full confidence that, in the long run, it will do well. Best Regards, diana
