Hi Spede, Prayer is good..... good deeds are even better..... It can become a virtuous circle and can be quite uplifting......

So much of the Old Testament gives examples of God attempting to lead his chosen people, but he finds them so very often back sliding and being stiff-necked. The Israeli's were lead out of boundage in Egypt, with the Lord placing 10 progressively more painful plagues on The Egyptians... Even with the Lord guiding them, using Moses and Aaron as his conduites... when Moses goes up on Mount Sinai to received the Lord's sacred commandments..... the Israelites down below get nervous, lose faith and implore that Aaron sculpt a bull out of Gold..... for them to worship.

When Moses comes down he is so upset he has his people melt the bull down and each person is made to eat some of the gold.

God began his covenant with Man in the Old testament ... and the overarching theme of the 2 testaments is the Evolution of the Lord's Covenant with Man..... In the New Testament where we see that the Lord provides a brand new covenant with his people through Jesus Christ and thus he sent his only begotten Son to pay with his Blood and Physical Life for our Sins....... This is a profoundly different and evolving relationship with the Lord.

Peace be with us all,

John
