Now you are talking about organized religion and some of the perverted hacks who run the asylum. What makes you think that most religious people attend organized religious services. Religion is primarily a person's own solitary relation to G-D. What does that have to do with the Church, Synagogue, Cathedrahl, mosque, Temple?
I haven't gone to Synogogue in over 40 years and never had any interest expressing my faith in that manner because I always knew it was an inhumane rigid setting.

<<Have you read the news for the last 40 years about this world wide
Catholic Church pedophile scandal?
Or do you think the raping of children is a matter of interpretation? >>

40 years? If you bothered to read Diderot and Voltaire, you would know that this has been going on for the past 3 centuries!

Yes, religion, faith, standing alone in a solitary relation to G-D, has nothing to do with the Catholic Church, Synagogue, or any other institutionalized form of religion. People who can't stand on their own two feet run to these institutions for help.

Moreover, perverts, such as pedohiles, are not restricted to the Catholic Church. Sure, you can make the argument that when you repress a person's natural inclination for sex (like the Catholic Church does), it is bound to come out anyway in a perverse form. But the origin of most perverse acts goes way beyond that.

I believe in the motto of the enlightenment, "think for yourself." There are great arguments for the existence and non-existence of G-D; there are great arguments for the immortality and non-immortality of the soul. You can read these arguments in Kant's Antinomies of Pure Reason in the Critique of Pure Reason.

Is the Catholic Church immoral? Martin Luther thought so. I'll pass on that question, since I'm not Catholic or Christian. That's a question for Christians to decide.

Purity of Heart is to Will One Thing. Those who are religious know what I mean and need no further explanation.
