That dip in 96 was pretty ugly and one every ALTR should keep in mind. Thereafter, ALTR acted really well during the early 97 market correction. I bought in early this year at 38 and got out in this Fall when it had corrected 25% to protect my profits. I still like this stock and am looking for a bottom.

From peak to peak, the dip in 96 was much bigger. I sort of ignored that as a dip. My mistake. I was thinking more about the daily volatility and very short term moves. However, I wanted to say that it's entirely possible that ALTR has hit it's peak (improbable, but possible). Right now, this company still has a fairly niche product. If it breaks out of that niche, there are possibilities for tremendous growth. And people are betting on those possibilities. I just don't think that it's wise to be so casual about the recent drop in share price. Yes, I hope that the stock pops back into the mid-fifties or sixties, but to just expect the bounce seen in 96 doesn't make sense. Things were off in the third quarter. They say bad things will continue into the fourth. Where do you read that things will pop back to the way they were in the first quarter of next year? I say no way we see the movement we saw in 96 until we hear that the splendid growth seen in the past is back. I hope that we'll hear management say that within six months, but can you really say anything before then? Bullish is bullish, and believe me, I'm bullish. But to be *so* bullish on past growth when there is no growth to speak of is a bit dangerous.

Would I be dreaming to hope for a bottom near here and a Spring flower of 50ish, or should I expect a further decline followed by an 80 Spring and another split to where we are nowabouts pricewise?

Help me out on this, it sounds like you own a piece of the company if you have been in for years.
