That's interesting re: Alcatel and the European telcos. You realize if they bought Amati they'd own the market, almost lock, stock, and barrell.

I still believe the company with the most to lose is Motorola. I can't believe they haven't made some move to bid.

Just reading the press release about the Europeans getting serious about ADSL makes you know the market's getting closer. The drop in 56K sales, the slowdown in computer upgrades, all point to the emergence of a highspeed market. Don't they see it?

Ah, well, let's hope TXN drops enough for us to pile in and pretend they exchanged share for share at a decent rate. :))
