As middle classes align. Europeans hold to older cars longer as emerging markets dump their clunkers. As a result, Ford does better out of the developed world.

As middle classes align, the old rich people of the developed world, stop having their source of wealth there and try to keep wealthy elsewhere making money elsewhere.

Like the decadent aristocracy that went down as monarchies died and Republics took their place.
