Only 24% are in the Nature only/and humans don't count for a hill of beans groups. The other 76% represent various degrees of concern for human consequences and recognition of human impact.

Interestingly, the guy who cobbled this together appears to be missing 8% of the people! I suppose (since he is the writer) that the 8% are not truly missing--just ...ummmm--misplaced!

Personally, I think it will be a great day for humans when we can do more to protect ourselves than throw sand bags like primitive tribes going extinct--as so many human groups did! :-( But as to how much (if any) public research is warranted--well, I think that is something qualified people need to discuss.

"Have you ever worked in the fed gov ?"

Actually, I have. It was a long time ago.

I am not a fan of big government. But I think being strictly Libertarian or (let us say) Randian Objectivist may be principled--but it is like pissing into the wind.

It is sort of like Galileo or Bruno insisting to their accusers that the earth went around the sun and that it is physically impossible for an angel to fly. That would be stupid. But wait...that crazy Bruno did stand his ground. Well...it does take all kinds...

Hey, if the Christians took over, I would join them in "spirit"--and then disappear into the woods. Life is too damned short to be tortured and burned to death over a bit of truth and fact. -g-
