Hi Shane. A backyard company is something I've always said has operations close by your house. It's a term I started way back when I was at Individual Investors. IEC is based, and has it's major operations in Newark NY. That's about nine miles from my house. I thought about going to the annual meeting this year, but didn't make it. I've mentioned IEC as a backyard company, and as a good value in Value investing. I've successfully traded it before and current own a position. IMO I think it looks moderately cheap in here RE:PE, but might get cheaper due to market conditions. If it get cheaper in this market it's one stock I would personally add to. If Made in America comes back even at a crawl. I suspect IEC will be ready to pick up some new business. They are currently trying to diversify away from defense, but IMO the majority defense work they have is less likey to be subject to budget cuts.
