DOW/Gold ratio - got to be careful with secular trends.
I could not load the current chart, but it seems the Dow
in gold got extremely overbought in this huge rally from 7-ish
to 9-ish. This chart below is from Sharefin. During the
20th century Dow bottomed at 1-2 Oz, but somehow Sharefin
found positive beta when he "extended" to 19-th century.
Anyhow, the point of this chart is that "gold better than
stocks" is getting a little old these days. That is not to
say it can't continue, but one with allocation mindset may wish
to also be long stocks at this point.
