Right. I don't trust the statistic either except to note it is a high number and when put in the context of Joe Salazar's comments I get nervous..

Joe Salazar of Colorado asserted that young women can’t be trusted to assess threatening situations at their colleges or universities: "It's why we have call boxes, it's why we have safe zones," Salazar said during floor debate. “Because you just don’t know who you’re gonna be shooting at. And you don’t know if you feel like you’re gonna be raped, or if you feel like someone’s been following you around, or if you feel like you’re in trouble when you may actually not be…”

· One in 5 college women are raped during their college years.
* Number of men shot by college women who just don't know when they are in trouble ... ZERO

In 2001 alone, 610 murders and 11,659 robberies were reported across college campuses in America. From 2005 to 2007, more than 100 murders, 16,000 assaults and 10,000 forcible sexual assaults were reported on college campuses – amounting to an average of more than nine sexual assaults a day.

I think I like Joe Biden's approach better. Give my youngest daughter (college in two years) a double barrel for graduation and teach her how to use it.
