Wow! Congratulations epicure, for the win, three stars and above 50% record beating the S&P. VERY Impressive run.

Nice attempt with your shorts to try and catch him. I wonder if you went long HPQ if you would have caught him? My HPQ was a good performer and so was FNSR, but FNSR gave up a ton the last few days so a short of FNSR and long HPQ might have caught him. Sort of like saying "if I only picked two different lotto numbers.... I'd have won some money! LOL

Thanks again for running the contest.

You asked awhile back about how to measure our success differently than with stars... It makes sense because I think I've had some really good runs like this last contest then some where I just missed the S&P so if you average one good run with two just misses... I could still be ahead. I think some others could be in the same boat. Some others seem to be near the top often so it might really highlight good, long term pickers.

So... an easy way to track it is make a matrix of names and contest numbers and scores
Sum the scores and compare the sums for each player with the sums for the S&P in the same spreadsheet cells.

Even easier is normalize the scores to $100 for each contest then you only need to add the normalized scores. Thus, someone with 15 entries would have a summed, normalized score compared to $1,500.

Thanks again!
