The civil rights fight was a blood in the streets fight where mean southern white people used fire hoses and German shepard dogs on little girls and people got lynched. And the black community was real scared during this time and real brave. What they were doing put them in mortal danger. They killed MLK. It was the conservatives and pubs doing this. Not a liberal in the mix! Where was Colin Powell during this time? Colin Powell came to the dems after the neo cons were finished using him and his reputation shot. Had he not testified for Bush, but against the Iraq war it would have been a big blow against bush. Like if MacNamara had testified against the Viet Nam war. But he was into power. Apologized as an old man to try and clean his conscience. Powell doing the same thing. Too late for both of them. This is all serious shit. But Powell was in love with the military and so looked the other way as to what was happening to his people. Powell supported Obama at the very end when it was safe to do so.

Oh, and the latest thing Roberts is musing about is to get rid of section 5 of the civil rights act which protects black voters in the south saying it is not necessary anymore. Chris Hays had several black lawyers and folks from the south on his show this Saturday (look it up) saying how bad it still is down there and how it would be a travesty to no renew it. One fellow from Alabama said: try and get elected in his town and they all said how necessary it is. The pubs cannot win the popular vote anymore so they are fixing the vote and Roberts and the Roberts court looks like they are going to help them.
