Seriously, teddy, this obviously isn't a topic you know anything about. Perhaps you should move onto to designing space stations.

WHY does that not happen? Maybe because they don't require parents to pay attention to their kids? Maybe because competent teachers are stuck in a union controlled conglomerate of mediocrity or worse?

In New York (and many other places) they have to go through hoops to fire ANYBODY, incompetent or not.

They send lousy teachers to centers where they sit around for 8 hours a day because union contracts won't let them fire anybody.

That's NOT to say I dislike unions. As long as unions are their to "protect" workers from UNFAIR practices and not to to give them a status that is antithetical to reasonable practices in the workplace then I am ALL for them.

My Wife could USE a union that would protect her basic rights and she has none. They can fire her at any time without recourse. She wouldn't get a pension and I don't think they'd even spring for a gold watch.
