I've been arguing with extremists since I was in the fourth grade... I really have.

These people love to speak of "hippie" liberal Charles Manson and show his pictures as if he was just typical, but these are the people who used to scream at me that the Mai Lai massacre was a liberal spin, and Calley was an American hero.

They masturbate to the vision of bombs dropping on their "enemies" from 50,000 feet with all the collateral damage; they advocated dropping the big one on Mecca immediately after 9-11. They saw liberals as communists and violent attacks by the U.S. government on war protesters or Dr. King's marchers as justified; until Waco when they saw and rooted for David Koresh as the ultimate symbol of a freedom fighter against "jack booted thugs" from the federal government.

I know Tea Party people in Texas who think Lincoln was a war criminal for murdering 650,000 "patriots."

Not all the conservatives are 'wingnuts' and 'hawks' for example many nice people in the Catholic Church who have been exploited over the abortion issue and unwittingly adopted and promoted other extreme RW memes including the endorsement of violence in defense of power, and offense as defense, whenever a Republican is President.
