[To All: Some Thoughts and Questions]

I purchased CREAF several months ago because I was sold in the DVD technology. Watching it bounce around has been an adventure and this drop from $29 to $21 has made me raise my eyebrows a bit, since there is so little news to cause it.

I see several of the following happening:

1) Since it is an Asian-based company, the Asain financial markets are having a effect on it.

2) It's a small enough company that the market manipulators are doing their thing.

We are in the middle of the Christmas shopping season. As usual, the papers report that sales are not what they should be. As usual, after Christmas we will probably hear that sales reached another new all-time high. With the economy in general doing well, I see no reason for people to curtail their purchases this year.

Since I'm relatively new to CREAF, I have several questions:

1) How much cash does the company have in the bank?

2) Most importantly, the DVD sales. How much effect will the DVD sales have on profits for the quarter? What % of total sales for the company as a whole are due to DVD drives?

3) Do they sell any of their DVD drives under another company's name?

4) Do you see Creative's DVD drives being packaged in Dell or Compaq computers any time soon?

5) Does anyone have DVD sales figures for Creative for each of the last four quarters?

Thanks in advance!

Harumph! The U.S. market represents at least TWO cylinders of CREAF's sales! (Depending on the size of the engine. Let's assume a modest 4-cylinder...) What a lousey analogy.

Is the U.S. really only 50% of their sales?

Is this "concern" about Christmas sales being expressed about other companies? Is it being expressed about the retail industry in general? Is there some reason to beleive that sales of electronics, in particular will be weak?

Strange, but all I've read so far point toward a blow-out Christmas for retailers this year, due to the strong economy and historically-low unemployment rate.

David Busch:
Great link! Thanks for the info. I think that creaf's recent performance is more tied to its Asian investor contingent who are dumping. I am going to watch creaf fall some more and add to my position. Even if forward pe's meet the downgraded estimate, it is still trading at a low multiple. Creaf will reward the patient who want to cash in after the next 6 months.
