I don't have any quibbles with the way Dahlman Rose has done their job while working for MCP... and it's hardly the case that the issues MCP has now are things related only to the work done by the investments bankers, rather than the work done and choices made by the management and the board. But, there pretty clearly is a fairly major difference in philosophy that is increasingly apparent between the managements of the two companies... and I tend to prefer the more conservative and "value oriented" focus of other... for those very reasons that should be fairly apparent now, even if they weren't as readily apparent to most people two years ago ?

It's not still hard to decide which of the two you'd rather be given a million shares of today, if you were going to sell them tomorrow...

But, if you're going to buy them yourself... and hold them ?

Which will be worth more in 10 years time ?

Not nearly as easy an answer as it might appear, today... although I'd note that its really not that hard for investors to understand management's focus... and adapt their own focus in terms of "holding period" to the nature of the VALUE apparent in the management's focus.

I don't think it was inevitable, two years ago... that MCP would be trading for $6 now, and looking like the odds are its going lower...

But, it's also not overly shocking that the market darling REE bubble baby is struggle with the bath water, now.
