That's a job for the private sector to do, eh?

The Exxon NFL Superbowl Flyover and the JPM-NFL Whirled Serious Flyover.

How come they don't flyovers for the NBA and NHL championships?

Golfing for the POTUS and Aspen ski holidays for the 1st lady ?

Well it has been a whole month! Just weeks after 17-day Hawaii vacation Michelle hits the slopes with daughters on Aspen ski tripBy HANNAH ROBERTS
UPDATED: 11:25 EST, 20 February 2012

With the economy on its knees, many American families have had to forgo their annual holiday just to make ends meet.
But barely a month after returning from a luxury Christmas break in Hawaii Michelle Obama is on holiday again - this time at the exclusive Colorado ski resort of Aspen. It's her 16th holiday since her husband took office.

The First Lady Michelle Obama is spending Presidents' Day weekend in the upmarket resort with her daughters, Sasha and Malia, and was seen hitting the slopes - albeit apprehensively - on Saturday.

Mrs Obama also raised eyebrows when for the second year in a row she left earlier than her husband for their annual Christmas holiday in Hawaii, incurring additional expenses of an estimated $100,000. The 17 day holiday is estimated to have cost taxpayers $4milloion.

All total, with Christmas and summer holidays included, the Colorado jaunt is trip number 16 for Mrs. Obama since the family moved to the White House.

Under sequestration, such training hours would be curtailed.

This will be interesting.. As it stands right now, every pilot has to log so many hours per year to remain in flight status.. So are they going to cut this minimum amount of hours?

I highly doubt it.

California is "greening" itself toward a third world electrical gridThe "greening" of California's energy infrastructure is producing some unforeseen consequences.

Solar power doesn't work very well at night. Or on cloudy days. Wind power tends to operate intermittantly.

A robust power grid takes those factors into account, usually by having natural gas turbine generators on standby. Alas, California's ecotwits have forced most of the state's fossil fueled power plants into mothballs. The ones that are still limping along will likely be shuttered by 2020 thanks to onerous and prohibitively expensive upgrades required under the Clean Air Act.

So what will happen on cloudy, windless days?

Rolling blackouts.

In 21st Century America. California will join the third world.

I imagine the Green Goons see this as a feature.
