Fred, I think your right that Cube will eventually be bought out by a franchise company. The Question is at what price and when. I'm betting that the eventual takeover will be at levels considerably lower than todays price. Why should TXN or INTC buy out Cube now with pricing pressures beginning again and the Sotheast Asia region in turmoil? It would represent good business sense to have Cube cry uncle first?

-SIEMENS NIXDORF: New notebook from Siemens Nixdorf

M2 PRESSWIRE-4 December 1997-SIEMENS NIXDORF: New notebook from Siemens Nixdorf (C)1994-97 M2
COMMUNICATIONS LTD

-- SCENIC Mobile 510 - lighter than a PC magazine and lightest in its class

Siemens Nixdorf has announced the expansion of its award winning notebook family in the midrange price segment, with the
introduction of the SCENIC Mobile 510. With a basic weight of below 2.0kg - lighter than many PC magazines - and
optionally equipped with a 166, 200 or 233 MHZ Pentium MMX processor, the SCENIC Mobile 510 is an essential
notebook for those requiring a vital mix of performance and light weight.

The new SCENIC Mobile 510 model is available in the UK immediately, with pricing ranging from GBP 3,099 for the P166
MMX, 2GB, 32MB, 12.1 TFT, 20x CD, lithium ion model to GBP 3,399 for the 233 MMX, 2GB, 32MB, 12.1 TFT,
20xCD variant.

The combination of a basic weight of less than 2kg with the performance of a high-end notebook ensures that the SCENIC
Mobile 510 can stand out from rival vendors' offerings. Design remains an important selling point, and the SCENIC Mobile
510 has a stylish and slim wedge design with rounded edges and a flat case. As with other SCENIC mobiles, the SCENIC
Mobile 510 is a characteristic 'tendency green' colour.

"Weight is the Achilles' heel of notebook design," commented Steve Gales, senior marketing manager, Siemens Nixdorf. "The
SCENIC Mobile 510 provides users with a true no compromise desktop alternative which is incredibly light.

Together with an optional second battery the SCENIC Mobile 510 can provide users with an operating time of over five
hours. The SCENIC Mobile 510 also features the worlds first hot swap power supply for external or internal use in the media
bay.

The SCENIC Mobile 510 is driven by an Intel Pentium MMX processor running at 166 MHZ with 256 KB second level
cache, or a 200 MHZ or 233 MHZ processor with 512 KB second level cache on upgradable MMO module.

The SCENIC Mobile 510 is modular in design, ensuring easy upgradability from the hard disk to the processor and enabling
the SCENIC Mobile 510 to cater for tomorrow's power-hungry applications. The memory options range up to 128 MB of
EDO or SD RAM. A fast-IDE hard disk with a capacity of 2.1 GB or 3.0 GB is operated directly via the PCI bus. Users can
choose between displays with either 12.1-inch TFT SVGA or 12.1-inch DSTN SVGA screens.

The integrated MPEG (Motion Picture Experts Group) solution for data compression, in conjunction with 16-bit stereo audio
sound with 3D-effects and a 2MB EDO RAM video memory, make the SCENIC Mobile 510 the obvious choice for
professional presentations featuring full motion video.

Linking up to the 'MobiDock' docking station turns the SCENIC Mobile 510 into a desktop fully functional PC. The optional
'QuickPort' simplifies the connection of peripherals, permitting all external devices to be hooked up centrally to one port,
whilst the user who wants to avoid the nuisance of cables can employ the fast infrared interface for access to peripherals. -
