we lost millions of men, if we only had bigger clips. the real work was done by the guys with machine guns and they had more that 7 rounds any way an M1 holds 5 rounds

....the M1 Garand rifle has a 8 round clip.........being semi auto......it gave our boys a distinct advantage over the German bolt action Mauser 98 or the bolt action Japanese rifles.............a larger clip would have increased the advantage.

An M-1 had an 8 round clip, not 7 as I said....There was typically one machine gun ( the BAR) per squad (12-15 men).. We didn't lose millions of men, we lost 418,000 including Coast Guard and Merchant Marine... Russia, Germany, China, and Japan each lost over a million.....the USSR biggest loser with 9-11 million military, 23-24 million total...
