Bub, Akerson knows how to work the media. What he meant by 320K -350K was that NXTL will have in excess of 350K adds in the fourth quarter. He has a history of exceeding expectations and he's not about to change that while the company is still in a vulnerable startup mode. Remember, adds is the equivalent of earnings per share for NXTL. IOW it's the factor that investors/traders key on.

Being a stubborn sort, I'll stick with 400,000. Split the difference, say 375,000; everybody's happy and the stock begins to move again. Viva la difference!

I think people would be very unhappy with only 320,000 new customers in 4Q. Nextel may be playing the old game of talking down expectations so that they can look good when the real numbers come out. Arnie's stock price predictions haven't been strong recently but his subscriber growth predictions have been very good.
