Makes me wonder if SP ever read a Woodward book Don't know about "SP", but Woodward's work has been definitely in decline for some time. I've read all of it. Every single last page. Much to my dismay. I just love the sense of in-the-room gossip he provides. Much of the basis for his judgements in books written over the past couple of decades was very thin, very badly documented, and very poorly argued. He grew lazy, at best, in just assuming the weight of his past, his persona, his position, whatever, would be enough. So he often seemed to be issuing dicta, rather than offering an interpretation based on the evidence he provided.
