Stockchild,
If you check back on the thread you'll see that I'm concerned about other boxmakers horning in of Compaq's sub $1000 market share.
Things must be going pretty good since Compaq doesn't want to talk about their new models until after Christmas...still I think that
IBM actually aced out Compaq by coming with the K6 first. HP's little $899 166MMX looks nice but lacks too much compared to IBM ACER and CTX. CompUSA already has offered a K6-233 for $999. If Jerry wants to give away K6's then they will own the $800-$1000 zone. Cyrix will own the sub $800 zone Presario 2200's are now $749 and they are back in all the stores inc. Best Buy, Circuit City, CompUSA, Sams and Costco. Intel will get more paranoid. AMD will not make money. Compaq will make a lot of money. HP could make a lot of money if they trimmed down.
Who you putting your money on.
Jim
