Anyone think this beautiful gem is a buy in here at 14.75? Or is the though that we are headed to 6 out of the question? SPOCK! SUNW IS A BUY! CS is a gamble and for a bounce only. P.S. U shold have held ASND!

Spock,

You may be the person who gave me this idea, however, I purchased ASND at near current levels. When CS tanked it was my feeling that there may be further technology transistions in the networking sector and neither COMS nor ASND was worth the risk. I didn't want to retreat to more CHIP stocks because their upside is partly tied to index changes. I tried to listen to another posting on this tread before making my move regarding averaging in to CS over three days (that fellow's advice was right on the money), but bought too much the first day. Regarding your general comment, you seem to do the opposite of me. Generally, I sell rising stocks too soon (greed/fear of falling). The upside is I sell if there is a downtrend in a stock, and I do my trades on the internet (to keep brokerage fees from eating my lunch), but you can miss out on gains trading too much!

The reason I bought CS is that I don't believe there is much downside left, and as other postings here have suggested it is selling close to book. Your logic may have been, using your obvious patience for holding, that CS's hoped recovery to mid20s would make you whole.

Emotionally I would have a hard time returning to ASND, or networking stocks in general if you decided to move out of CS. Since I cannot predict stocks or the future I won't make any detailed suggestions, or selections, but there seem to me that there are a lot of stocks on sale this week, always buy at sales, full retail means full risk.

1. internet world is the 10-12th, i would have held my asnd through that time, asnd should bounce and if a buyout of asnd is planned, it will be announced at this time to steal the show.

2. i purchased some cs, so now i own both asnd and cs. would i flip back if i owned only cs, no, i would stick with cs.

3. cs and asnd are both down stocks, but i believe both will come back but not until next year.

4. cs with its current mgmt is more street friendly than asnd is with mory.

5. asnd is testing another multi-year low and is beaten down everytime another networker, ie cs, coms, warns, asnd takes a hit. this may happen to cs, we will have to wait and see.

both asnd and cs are under pressure from bigger rivals and substandard quaters. personally i think it is a crapshoot as to who recovers first. right now cs stock is even, asnd down 3/16th.

unless you believe asnd will make the quarter, you will see asnd in the teens with cs.

i do not know how much stock you own, but a split between the 2 may be best.

How about going back to ASND. Given your luck, CS might go up after that! :) Just kidding! The important thing is to study the stock, and stay with it through thick and thin. If it goes down, and your belief in it is strong, then buy more on the way down (if you can afford it). Then wait. It will pay you back in time.

Shoulda, Woulda, Coulda...

We should have waited a week to sell ASND and buy CS.
Or maybe a month or two..
