I think it says more about our hell hole urban districts, where people(generally) are not motivated enough to try to escape from their bare bones existence passed out by their masters in the ruling class. Away from those population sinkholes of despair, I think the average voter gets it. There was a time when mass numbers of people would "escape" to areas of better living & more opportunity or at least a chance of that.....the welfare state has cut down on that urge. And we are clearly not better off for it, despite the trillions thrown down the social engineering rat holes.
