Why Obamacare or government sponsored healthcare won't work in America: Yesterday my office received a letter from MSI (Orange county Medi-cal) stating that MSI is broke. The letter stated that MSI is $11 million dollars over budget for drugs and that they are going to start paying doctors 20% of Medi-care rates, which translates to about $8 for a 45 min patient visit.? Since $8 isn't gonna cover the cost of overhead I'm not sure who is going to be willing to see these patients. Medi-cal covers health care for 25% of children in Orange County. The system is broken! Clearly Obama thinks cutting physician reimbursement is part of the solution since he just signed the Sequester which will cut Medi-care reimbursement. Cutting physician reimbursement is just going to limit access to care for poor and elderly people since no one will be able to afford to see them.
