It helps quite a bit with the coins to be plugged into your local coin community. The thing to remember, at least in my case, is that the numismatic stuff is actually quite small in the overall scheme of things with my investments. It's a hobby I enjoy and don't mind making money at it, too, but my swing trading the metals with CEF and GTU involve orders of magnitude more money than my numismatic holdings/dealings. I also have a small horde of bullion coings (gold and silver eagles and gold and silver maples), but still not on the order of even a small stock position in oil, miners or even CEF/GTU... helps me keep my head in the game more than anything, plus I admit to a bit of pleasure being able to paw over actual metal in my hands when I'm even more cracked than usual. The numismatics will be more of a generational handoff at some point, while the bullion coins will be gone at some point when I want to fund some activity or possession I may or may not necessarily want the iWife to be completely cognizant of -- I believe they used to call that "mad money" but on a bigger scale in my case I guess.... <ggg>
