Hi Billwot, way to go with the cpq. I hope you got in on the pullback this morning. Adpt has been a money making machine for years and the drop is in relationship to a chip it sells to WDC. It is probably pure speculation as to how this will effect eps but it is getting killed. I don't know whether to wait until it turns back up again but if I recall it is expected to make about $2.70 next year which gives it a low pe relative to growth rate.

RESEARCH ALERT-Adaptec estimates said cut

NEW YORK, Dec 4 (Reuters) - Bear Stearns cut its 1998 and 1999 profit estimates for Adaptec Inc on
Thursday, according to a source at the brokerage.

-- Buy ratings on the stock were reiterated, the source said.

-- 1998 estimates were cut to $2.13 a share from $2.20, and 1999 estimates were cut to $2.60 from $2.70, the
source said.

The biggest slide was at Adaptec Inc (Nasdaq:ADPT - news), off 2-11/16 at 38-1/2 after broker Bear Stearns
lowered the company's earnings estimates for 1998 and 1999.
