My personal recommendation is to use LED bulbs where the light switch gets flipped a lot - like a bathroom. CFLs seem to have a lifespan of months in bathrooms or any place where they are turned on and off a lot.

OT: I bought a case of 60W and 40W incandescents last fall,
for about $24. 50 cents per bulb.

Must be the 'doomsday prepper' in me!
