Re: MM Machinations

Is it possible to differentiate between 'real buying' and MM's exchanging shares to lure in buyers, thus getting rid of 'excess inventory'?

I'm not a Level II tea-leaf reader, so I can't give you specific technique. Here's what I would look for:

1. Decreasing volume on the uptrend.
2. False breakouts (for instance, if LGND spikes above 13.25, then turns down quickly from there)

In LGND's case, I think a MM would have to "paint" the tape above 14.25 to generate some enthusiasm among the public.

IMO, FWIW, and TTFN!

p.s. re "You probably mean 'So will you buy to cover at 14.25?"... LOL!
