A firm of our size doesnt really see size greater than 1/2 million shares or so. Thats about the largest ticket i have worked ths year. Yet a mm might get a mutual fund looking to buy xx millions of a company. The mm knows it , hits the offer, ups the bid, grabs stock. Watching the tape, seeing the tape action, the size of the prints, the reactions, actions of the mm's relative to getting hit with stocks, etc. give you the indication. large pieces above the offer are a good indication someone is accumulating. Also remember that for every buy there is a sell. A transaction has two sides a buy and a sell.

Good luck,
