I would rather believe the company releases of Nikon, Canon, Cymi
etc..than an anonymous, self desribed insider. I am not saying
that Si Eng has not made interesting posts. However, he does not
speak for the industry as do the companies. How do you know he
is an insider? He hasn't posted on any threads for over a month,
so it is not likely that he will answer you anytime soon.

Do you believe the stepper companies are involved in a conspiracy
to protect CYMER? If they are it sure didn't work.

I believe the large short position remains as there is no reason
to leave.. :) Since CYMER is not moving it may be best for them
to wait for bad news or another market downturn before they cover.

Good news will of course force a covering from some as their margins
will be strained as the price increases.

Maybe one of the engineers on the thread will respond to your question.

Diana,

I wouldn't believe much of what Si Eng said. There are some major innaccuracies in his posts:

There is "plug & play" interchangable capibility with the lasers to the stepper or scanner system.

...

Komatsu has sold many units already and are not too far behind Cymer.

Most likely, he was a short that profited and moved along.

Bob

diana,

RE:...I also believe we should be shining a light in every corner, considering every possibility with a cold mind, and appreciating any and all input we can get from people who are in a position to know things about the company and/or the market.

That is precisely the right attitude. Consider yourself welcome to the thread.
