demand (i.e. smaller market share]. >>

I read your comment about 3 times to see if I understood. We are all working on insufficient data and making a lot of assumptions. Based on these ass-u-me anyone can be right or wrong.

1. Overall demand may be increasing due to lowering of price
2. Consumers may have become sophisticated, using internet etc. toget lower prices.
3. Demand may have increased in low end or computers not promoted by GTW.
4. # of vendors supplying computers may have increased.

and on and on. Of course if one is really interested one could dig into ALL data and come up with the best guess using theories and math established for non-linear incomplete info to decide on market price. Of course that may lead one into analysis paralysis in which case all the effort will have been for nought.

Happy to see conflicting views. Ultimately tahts waht makes the amrket move till earnings are announced.

profitability nor in lower absolute demand in terms of # or units.<<

luke, my point EXACTLY. you didn't acknowledge that this may be bad in your prior post. you said it was GOOD and left NO ROOM FOR BAD. this is not necessarily good and my bet is that it bad.
