Thanks for response. New question. If Lucent or Nortel rumor is true with respect to taking over Ascend - does that make it inenvitable that MRVC will need to be gobbled up in order to compete or can they continue success (albeit not reflected in stock price) on their own? Does agreement with Intel limit ability of other entities to take MRVC over?

Lookie here: Direct evidence of strong 4th-quarter networking sales...should Noam also issue a statement? Time to get back into MRVC? Perhaps the focus shouldn't be so much on Asia.

Ascend Shares Higher On Conference Remarks From CEO Ejabat
NEW YORK -(Dow Jones)- Ascend Communications Inc. shares jumped 14%
Thursday after President and Chief Executive Mory Ejabat said the
networking company expects to meet fourth-quarter consensus estimates of 23 cents a share.
At the close Thursday, Ascend shares (ASND) were up $3.25 at $26.875 on extraordinarily heavy volume of 17.5 million shares. Average daily volume is 9.1 million.
