Couple of things....first you were a bad ass.... Then, weren't you required to work a minimum amount of time before becoming eligible for benefits???? Some states, from what I see, require you to earn a base salary of a certain amount, eg $3500, to become eligible.... "Then packed my gear and moved to Oregon. I had mixed feelings about having played the system and having free money to live on for several months, tsk, oh well, bad me." You didn't have to sign up every week in person to collect benefits which would make collecting in Oregon kinda difficult....?? "The mine superintendant had the opportunity to contest my complaint but did not." Based on my knowledge of such things, I think the mine's input would only matter if they said they laid you off or fired you..they don't have to give their reason. . You had a job. But you're probably correct in assuming they were happy to get you out of their hair and said they dumped you.
